Christmas Card a Week #6

Hi All, here is my card for this weeks Christmas card a week stash.   I cut this white card stock with my KNK Zing, using one of the fonts in my computer along with a cute little ribbon die cut from Alaa Studio.  I embossed the card using a Spellbinders folder,  I then added the red paper behind the cut and added some Stamping up Dazzling Diamonds glitter and gold stickers.  Thanks for stopping by, ~Diane

Stickles, Stickles and more Stickles!

Hi all, sorry I have not been creating much lately.  We are still working on installing the wood floors.  My craft room seems to be the only available place to deposit everything for the time being and it is getting cramped in here, lol.   I made this card for my friends Mother in Law.  I grabbed the gold metal piece a while back at JoAnns for .50 cents on clearance, then I added the green rhinestones to dress it up.  I saw a card on Enfys blog using this technique to ink up the embossing folder before you run your paper through it, I really like the effect.  Not sure if you can see, I used a Spellbinders Nestability to cut the center circle then trimmed it in green Stickles.  I also used some green Stickles to change the trim on that lace ruffle from pink to green.  I used my  Perfect Layers Rulers to get the precise layers and traced the border with more Stickles.  Cardstock and leaf punch are Stampin Up, flowers and rhinestones are from Pizzaz Aplenty.  Thats it, thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Praying for you card.

I thought I would show you how much paper I save using my Perfect Layers Rulers, this is just one of the reasons I love it.  The card is 5x7 and the sheets of card stock are 8.5x11.  I cut 2 blue frames and 2 black frames using less than a half sheet of card stock, isn't that great!  I glued my image right on to the full sheet of blue, cut my frame, then did the same on to the black card stock cut the larger frame from the patterned cs, then did another black and blue frame.  I flipped the piece in the middle photo so you can see I don't even need to place it correctly, I can glue it on crooked and it will still cut a perfect border.   I used 2 different size prints of the patterned cs, (I had not made the decision to use the larger sheet as yet.)  The image is free from Magic Moonlight, the paper is Nouveau Nights from Gecko Galz, solid color cardstock is Stampin Up.  I used a Spellbinders NEST-SET-4 Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies for the sentiment a little Tim Holtz distress ink and the lace flower is from Pizzaz Aplenty.  For more information on the Perfect Layers Rulers and a 5% discount, use my coupon code Bove5% here.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Passionate Pink Saturday

I made this card for Beverly's How Sweet the Sound Pink Saturday using some awesome Gecko Galz digital ephemera.  The rich pink paper is from the Nouveau Nights Collection.
The passionate lovers image is from the new January Kiss Me Collection.  I used a bit of pleated lace cut in half and I added some pink Cotton Candy Stickles to the edge of it.  I added some pearls, a paper rose, Spellbinders frame and some Tim Holtz Distress ink to finish it off.  Speaking of Gecko Galz, they have an Invite a Friend challenge going on for the whole year.  All you have to do is follow their blog and then join the Yahoo group.  Tell them who sent you and the person who brings the most followers will get that months digital products. Thats right you win all the collage sets, digi stamps, and paper set!!!  So be sure to say I sent you:), and send some of your friends over too, you will be glad you did. We found an egg!

Forgive me, I used these cute bunnies again, free from the The Vintage Moth.   I just love to cut them out and add a little foam to give them some dimension.  Beautiful paper is Green at Heart by Basic Grey from a 6 x 6 pad.  My card is a 5 x 7, so I trimmed the paper and punched the edges and pieced it to the sides to fit.  So sad that I never got into doing that whole paper tole thing, I think I would have loved it, lol.  Pearls are Pizzazz A Plenty,  I used Spellbinders Labels 10 Nestabilities and roses are from I am Roses.

Jewel Colors Plus Gold

I made this card for the Gingersnap Creations jewel colors plus gold challenge.  This beautiful image Vintage Dress is a freebie from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, stop by her blog The Frugal Crafter to see what she has this week, and take a look at the rest of the team's blogs and their recent projects too!  I cased the idea to use tulle for the skirt from my DT sister Margie who made an awesome note card using black tulle.  For the bodice, I used Art Glitter Glue on the whole thing, placed the beautiful sapphire blue rhinestones from Pizzaz Aplenty down then filled in the background glue with some embossing glitter and heat set it.  The blue seed beads are on a string which made them much easier to glue into the swirl.  I used a piece of gold braid for the waist, pulling it through to the back side of the card.  The tag is Spellbinders Fancy Tags, and I used Tim Holtz weathered wood to darken the already distressed edges.  Stop by Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter Friday for a team wrap up.  Are you interested in winning a set of Pro Markers?  I don't have any myself, so I entered the give away that Lindsay is having on her blog.  Just stop by this post to enter yourself.
Also, visit her today to grab your freebie that she always so generously provides.

Happy UnBirthday

You don't want to know how many times I tried to get this right, lol, but I think I finally did.  At least it's what I saw in my head (we all know my head is not quite right though).  The fabulous vintage Rabbit is from Inka at Altered Artifacts.  I have been dying to use him.  The beautiful bg paper Pocket Watch is from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Steampunk Stamps set.  The King and Queen of Hearts are from Jolee's by You.  The pocket watch charm is from Blue Moon Madame Delphine's collection jewelery pieces.  The teapot ribbon was from JoAnns clearance bin, unmarked.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks in broken china blue, scattered straw and dusty concord.   I used leftover stencils from my Penny Duncan cd.  I also used a Versamark pen to carefully color in the Rabbit and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  The first time I went out of the lines a little and the bright green BG paper came through on just some of the edges.  I also used Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold and since the Rabbit had been embossed in clear, I could just wipe away any ink or mist that fell on him.  I also used a Spellbinders Fancy tag.
I made this to fall into 2 challenges at Gingersnap Creations.

For today's DT card I used the Poppy from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Fancy Flowers along with the Sweet Stitches Paper.  I used a technique from Technique Junkies newsletter called Level Up to add some dimension.  I also use some red Stickles to add some interest.  The lovely 5/8 red satin ribbon is from Pizzaz Aplenty.  I also used Spellbinders Labels 8 and Cuttlebug Mandarin Screen embossing folder.

Posh 'n Trendy Thursday

This is Lindsay's newest set Posh 'n Trendy, which is already a favorite on my list!  I love all the vintage items in this set.  The background paper is another one of my favorites Bold Black and White the perfect set to those who are new to digital stamping and afraid of using too much ink to print a sheet.  You print the black designs on to your colored paper, so black is the only color ink you use.  You also have a huge variety of papers because every time you change the color of your paper you get a different look. Not only that, but you also have a sheet of matching colored card stock to go with the print, another reason I love it, this is a total bargain!  It's Thursday so be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter to see what wisdom she has to share along with the Thursday Freebie.  Don't forget the rest of the awesome Design Team, their work is always top notch!

Learning something new

I have been playing with digital images for over a year now but I keep learning new things.  I found out from my awesome DT Sisters the difference between a JPG and a PNG file is that the PNG can be layered transparently.  Really simple thing to do in Word, I actually have 3 images layered up here, the Shabby Houndstooth paperOld Paper set and the Cute Easter set.
I printed the torn page twice and cut it out so I could give it more dimension and I ran some Cotton Candy Stickles around the edge also.  The tag was printed in Word and cut with Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Shapeabilities.  The card is a 5 x 7.  Well it's Thursday and you know that means Lindsay has something special and free on her blog The Frugal Crafter.  Stop by the Design Team's blogs also to see their gorgeous work.  I really admire these gals, they are always getting published and winning challenges, go see for yourself it is an awesome group.

Tea Anyone?

I thought I'd give you a new twist this week with this vintage 6 x 6 card. I used Vintage Alice Printable Stamp Sheets, a set I bought from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, before I was on her design team.  She has a few Vintage Alice sheets to choose from, one of them is in color too.  I also used one of my favorite papers, Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Bold Black and White, printed on Stampin Up More Mustard.  The Chestnut Theme challenge over at Gingersnap Creations is Hot Beverage, the Mad Hatter and his tea is my interpretation.  I used the sketch from Card Patterns.  I don't know if you can see it, I used the Utee thick embossing powder on the Mad Hatter and then gave it an aged crackled look, I printed him with the color change option in Word.  I also used Tim Holtz Weathered Wood, and Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circles.  Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter to see what she has made for us this week and to get your Thursday Freebie.  And don't forget my Design Team Sisters, they are all so super talented!

Bunta in Blue

New stamp, new paper, new technique, whoo hoo!  I love this Asian stamp called Bunta by Scrolls Work, she inked up so well.  Don't forget the Scrolls Work 35% off sale ends tomorrow the 9th.  I used black embossing powder to give her more depth.  I used a paper piecing technique from Technique Junkies layering her up.  The beautiful paper is Websters Pages Vellum Designs 2 Digi Collection.  I printed the paper twice, once 7 x 7  on to a 5 x 7 formatted sheet size the other 8 x 8.  I stamped her on the 8 x 8 sheet and cut her out and pieced her on to the other page, that way the wheel spokes would look like the bg paper (my card size is 5 x 7).  I stamped her again to get her beautiful Kimono, cut and pasted that and took the hands from the one underneath and pasted them on top.  I took the words live your dreams from the 8 x 8 with a Spellbinders Labels 10.   I used Tim Holtz Weathered Wood distress ink which is a bluish black color.  I made the flowers with my Cricut.  That's it for today, I hope you liked it.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

I've got the moon on a string.

I hope you can get the idea of this card from the photo's.  The Santa Moon is wound up by twisting it in circles about 15 times so that when you open the card he will spin.  I used the cute Santa Moon and Seasons Greetings stamps from Scrolls Work.  I stamped the Santa Moon once on white card stock and again on clear acetate with Stazon black ink.  I used the back side of the acetate image so I could flip it in the other direction.   I colored in the skin tone on the front and back of the white cut out so it shows through the acetate.  I have a piece of fishing line secured with Zots going from the top inside if the card, through the moon and then underneath the foil which was embossed with a Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder.  I used Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles Large to cut both the opening and the top of the foil.  I heat embossed the Seasons Greetings inside the card.  I used Stickles Silver to trim the scallops and the star.

Christmas Lantern

This Christmas lantern was way too much fun to make and really easy too!   In the center is a battery operated tealight which looks really cool at night.  I used 4 fabulous stamps from Scrolls Work Rubber stamps to make this gem.  I used #8047 Noel Blocks, #8037 Christmas Kats#8024 Snow Kisses, and #8022 Christmas Tree.  I stamped them on vellum with Stazon ink and colored them in with markers and used some Stickles.  The holly leaves are made with Cricut Joys of the Season and I used Spellbinders Labels 2 Nestabilities to make the windows.  The shiny green cs is a heavy foil which I embossed with Stampin Up Texture Plates Kit 4 Weave.  Pop over to the Scrolls Work blog to see what the rest of the design team has made.

Lady Flourish Silhouette

I wish you could see this IRL, it has a lot of sparkle and dimension that I could not get the photo to pick up.  The gorgeous image is Scrolls Work image # 2557 Lady Flourish Silhouette #1.  I stamped her with Adirondack snow cap white and heat embossed with opaque silver powder onto Night of Navy cs.  I used the Spellbinders Impressabilities Snowflake to dry emboss the silver foil cs and added rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes.  I trimmed the image in Stickles silver, blue and black.  The ribbon was a wide one that I trimmed down to this size.  The layout is from a sketch at Waltzingmouse Stamps that I found on Allison's Stampin When I Can blog.  Be sure to stop by the Scrolls Work blog to see what the rest of the Design Team and our Guest Designer have made.
